Adam Wilk deserved better. He's had three good starts in June, but only one win. Last night he was fine until the 6th. And even then only let two runs in.
About the only other bright spot in the game was new guy Eury Perez's first at bat, a double. Plus he scored the first run.
Statistical trivia: The Bulls baserunners have only stolen 1 base in the last 16 games.
Outside the game —
- If you want to dig deeper into the Bulls current opponent, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, check out Kram's look at the 'Pigs at mid-season. Very different from WDBB's approach (here). Nice piece of work on his part. He obviously knows his players well.
- Reliever Andrew Bellatti has been DFA'd. Remember him? He made 6 appearances for the Bulls at the beginning of the season, none very successful. He gave up 5 runs in 5⅓ innings and then went on the disabled list. I wonder how that works. If a team dumps you, are you on your own for medical care/rehab? If he clears waivers, is Tampa Bay stuck with him? I assume he's down at their facility at Port Charlotte, Florida.
