Game 74, June 24, DBAP
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (New York) 14, Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) 3
Season: 41-33; Home Stand: 3-2
Wrap, Box, Herald-Sun
First, a tip of the hat to all those who stayed to suffer through last night’s debacle. Must’ve been Yankee fans. I couldn’t sit through it.
Second, I tried really, really hard to find something clever to say, or something quirky, or maybe just something that would distract from the reality of the night’s pain.
I failed.
I left after the third inning...glad I did
ReplyDeleteStayed an inning longer ... then left. Glad I missed Reid's inning.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed because my son wanted to see the fireworks....it was ridiculous, kind of like the Bulls had given up. Bright points, though, were seeing Omar Luna pitch the 9th (he's not bad), and seeing the score keeper squeeze two number "2"s into the openning to show 22 hits for the Yankees!
ReplyDeleteI did watch 8 and 9 on TV at home. Omar Luna looked like he was having a good time and Neil was reporting 90+ speeds. Bit sad to see all the dirty uniforms that came from chasing after hard hit grounders.
ReplyDeleteHope fireworks were fun.
